Overview

The Finance & Accounting Officer is responsible for full-spectrum accounting and financial management within the company, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, effective fund control, tax compliance, and the timely provision of financial information to support management decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounting & Financial Closing

    1. Prepare and record accounting vouchers and journal entries.

    2. Maintain ledgers and produce financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).

    3. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.

    4. Coordinate with external auditors and accounting firms.

  2. Cash Flow & Budget Management

    1. Manage daily cash flow and bank transactions.

    2. Prepare and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.

    3. Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insight.

    4. Oversee intercompany loans and group financing arrangements.

  3. Taxation & Compliance

    1. Prepare and file corporate, consumption, and withholding tax returns.

    2. Ensure compliance with Japanese accounting standards (J-GAAP) or IFRS.

    3. Support tax audits and internal control activities.

    4. Liaise with tax advisors and auditors on complex tax issues.

  4. Management Reporting & Investment Support

    1. Prepare management reports and financial analysis for investment projects.

    2. Provide financial data and analysis to assist decision-making.

    3. Support consolidation and monitoring of subsidiary financial performance.

  5. Reports directly to Finance Director / CFO


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

  2. Minimum 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.

  3. Experience in investment, financial services, or holding company preferred.

  4. Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Kanjo Bugyo, Yayoi Kaikei, freee, etc.).

  5. Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

  6. Solid knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.

  7. Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines.

  8. Japanese language skills: Business level (JLPT N2 or higher)

  9. English language skills: Professional working proficiency (TOEIC 700+ preferred)


Professional Certifications (Preferred)

  • Core: Japan Bookkeeping Test Level 2–1 (日商簿記検定)

  • Advanced: Certified Public Accountant (CPA Japan/US), Licensed Tax Accountant, CFA, ACCA

  • Additional: IFRS Certification, MOS (Microsoft Excel), SME Consultant
